0Monsters University Website Outshines Collegiate Sites
The long-awaited prequel to 2001s ‘Monsters Inc.’, titled ‘Monsters University’, is finally getting more light shed on it in the form of a university website.
What is particularly odd about the website is that in many ways, it far outshines a lot of actual collegiate sites out there that soon-to-be college students may use. The website for Monsters University is almost too realistic, and comes with a wide array of features including an academics section, a campus life section, and even a section dedicated to faculty and staff.
The university website includes articles written for the Monsters University newspaper (featuring a story titled “Are Two Heads Better Than One?”), and a list of goings-on around the campus itself, including a viewing of ‘Screaming in the Rain’ this Thursday night.
Of course, applications aren’t being taken – though there is a section for that as well. The site goes into detail about financial aid as well, saying
The Monster University Financial Aid division exists for one purpose: to make college affordable for every admitted student who wants to enroll at MU. Many factors are taken into account when determining a student’s financial aid needs. More than half of all MU students receive some form of financial assistance.
It’s the usual spiel of information, in many ways, but switches out the more common terms that would normally be used by humans and replaces them with terms more concerned with monsters and an education of scaring.
Supposedly founded in 1313, the school has a long history with educating young monsters to become elite, Ivy League scare-machines. Amongst the list of majors, soon-to-be monster students can study Scream Energy at the Monsters University School of Engineering, a dual major in English and Creative Roaring, and even Monster History (or an Early Monster Studies minor).
Monsters University – the movie – is set to be released June 21st, 2013.
