I’m Over Bad Girl’s Club, Where’s Weird Girl’s Club?
Bad Girl’s Club is a reality TV show on Oxygen that features seven women in their twenties with behavioral and psychological problems (AKA Bad Girls). The show follows the Bad Girls as they struggle to live together under one roof for three months, having to obey the producer’s rules or be evicted from the house. Bad Girl’s Club has been poorly received by critics as it is seen to be promoting violence and many of the women have made racial and homophobic slurs. Mary Mitchell of Sun Times even called the show “disturbing” and “hazardous to the female psyche.” Bad Girl’s Club premiered in December of 2006 and is currently in the Reunion stage of its 9th season which was filmed in Mexico.
I think Oxygen needs to ditch Bad Girl’s Club and replace it with something better and I have just the thing: Weird Girl’s Club. Bad Girls are so 2012, Oxygen. Weird Girls are where it’s at. I’ve already held auditions and cast three of the Weird Girls.
Cast of Weird Girl’s Club:
- Persephone: She’s an artist and slam poet who creates her pieces by stripping naked covering herself in blue paint mixed with sea gull poop and rolling on the canvas. Weird Girl nickname: The Lady Brush.
- Janet: Janet is a World Champion Competitive Eater and hummel enthusiast. Weird Girl nickname: The Hotdog Hoover.
- Girtch: She is a German foreign exchange student who thought she was signing a lease. The language and culture barrier should make for great TV. Weird Girl nickname: The Foreign Object
I’ve also altered the Bad Girl’s Club motto to fit the new premise:
A Weird Girl kind of knows what she wants and awkwardly makes vague attempts to get it. She makes her own way, makes her own soap and she makes no apologies. A Weird Girl blazes her own trail (because normal people wouldn’t dare). A Weird Girl never fights and nudges her way to the top with quirky, unconventional beauty. People might love you. People will probably hate you. Others will secretly wish to stare at you on the bus. A Weird Girl is you.
