0Bubble Witch 2 Saga Is Bubble Witch Saga, But Better
King, the creators of the iPhone smash hit Candy Crush Saga and the recent Diamond Digger Saga have put out the sequel to Bubble Witch Saga, a game of nearly equal popularity. Titled Bubble Witch 2 Saga, the sequel, having been released on the App Store this past June, seems to strive to do everything that the original did, but better.
Like the original game, you are still helping witches fight off evil spirits by shooting colored bubbles from their cauldron at same-colored bubbles on the ceiling of their house. However, Bubble Witch 2 Saga has more than a few changes while still managing to keep the familiar feel of the original. For starters, the game feels significantly more polished for mobile platforms. The buttons are larger and menus are easier to navigate, and the controls in-game work much better. For example, you no longer need to aim your bubbles and then press a separate button to fire them. Now, you simply hold wherever on the screen you want to send a bubble, and lift your finger when you want to fire.
Of course, a sequel wouldn’t be a sequel without revamped visuals, and Bubble Witch 2 Saga does just that. Levels are now uniquely and gorgeously illustrated, and it seems as though King took full advantage of the latest mobile hardware. Not to mention that the game looks absolutely beautiful on a Retina display.
Bubble Witch 2 Saga seemed to be the answer to King’s woes with falling stock prices. Judging from the popularity of the original, it seems difficult to imagine this sequel falling through the cracks in the App Store, and we expect it to be just as big a hit as King’s past puzzle games. Though Bubble Witch 2 Saga isn’t anything groundbreaking or particularly different from games that King has put out in the past, it is a solid sequel that addresses many of the issues that plagued the original.
With new yet still familiar gameplay, new levels, and improved visuals, Bubble Witch 2 Saga is a must download for any fan of King’s other games. Bubble Witch 2 Saga is free to download on iOS and Android, though it is a “freemium” game that might have you shelling out cash after you beat a few levels.
